Laura & Bill’s Engagement Session, Watch Hill, RI

Meet Laura, Bill and their cute Aussie Shepherds, Louis and Amber.
Nothing rivals weather that is one of a kind. As Hurricane Earl was pounding the Atlantic a couple of weeks ago, fortunately away from the East Coast, Watch Hill, RI’s beach, was witnessing some truly impressive wave action. With a couple of shots in Laura and Bill’s backyard in Andover, CT, we started the main shoot walking towards the tip of the 3-mile long sand strip. The sun was slowly nearing the horizon and those grasses were so graciously dancing in the wind…. mmmm perfect!
Bill is totally into fishing (Yessss!). He had his striper pole with him and was so excited to cast the bait in the surf for me, with Laura behind his back…. what more could a guy wish for in an engagement shoot!? We took a whole bunch of those photos, slowing the action down to get those beautiful expressionistic streaks in the water. The last couple of photos had Watch Hill’s glowing lights in the distance… so romantic! All of us got totally wet, but that water was unusually warm for that part of the year, and boy, what a blast we had!
My sincere congratulations guys, I am really excited for you! Can’t wait for the wedding!

I know nothing about making photography but I was impressed by this photo session in that it shows how a good photographer can make the best of any landscape, any weather and any time of the day.
Honestly, I got pleasantly carried away in my thoughts by these images even though I haven’t got the slightest intention to marry. ;-) Enchanting…like most of the work by the same photographer we have seen so far.
Engagements and weddings are all about romance and longing for warm emotions, and I think this photo session is a visual story about all those nice things in life.

These pictures are awesome. It’s like a story of their relationship. The first pictures are so creative, playful and fun. And then as the sun begins to set it becomes romantic. and the sunset is absolutely stunning! Oh, by the way, good job getting that fishing rod in there!

I love the picture with the sun setting between you two! But my favorite is the last picture where you guys are on the ocean and the building lights have turned on in the background! So pretty!

These pictures are so perfect!! They are so beautiful and impressive. I think you are an excellent photographer. It’s a shame you live so far from me, but I think we can set something up when I go that way.

Wow. I didn’t expect the pictures to be so hard to choose from. The sunset in between you and the one in the evening with the light house in the background is are my favorites. I finally get to see what Bill looks like..hahaha. Absolutely gorgeous

I am so moved by those beautiful photos, but more so with the love that emanates from them between Laura and Bill. I am so happy for you both. Val you are a true artist. Your work poetic and captivating. What an incredible knack for pulling emotion forth through the photographs.
